Productive - Habit Tracker App Reviews
Love it!
Good
This app is really easy to use and is way better than any other method I have tried.
Excellent, but no worth for that price
I like this app and use for a long time. However I am looking for alternative app now. Why? Because I am very disappointed recent change, especially the price. The subscription fee is $19.99 per year with 58% discount. :( Who thinks this is reasonable? I have to say goodbye my old good friend, productive! Bye!
Functionally good but annoying upgrade prompts
I started out really liking this app - it was easy to add habits and it had nice defaults. However after several weeks I’ve been getting really annoyed with the prompts to purchase/upgrade. Even though I dismiss to indicate I don’t want to, I’m repeatedly shown pop ups and banners. This has made a nice useful app quite annoying, and I’m looking for alternatives.
Amazing App, easy to use, and helpful
Very easy to use and so helpful as a mom of 2 who is constantly being distracted lol
Great app
I love this app- simple and easy to add new habit. I use it daily to track my meditation, exercise habit, diary, etc.
Works well, premium ads annoying
Once you dismiss the premium ad, itd be great if it didnt constantly reappear.
Too expensive
Like this app and have been using it awhile but the new pricing structure is unreasonable for such a simple app with so many alternatives available.
Probably one of best habits tracking apps!
Love the interface and how easy it is to use it. I also like that the developers are very responsive when you email and really try their best to help you out with your issue. Improvements: - needs better analytics. I don’t like the current analytics by habit. That’s just not enough - at least not for premium members. - if you edit a habit schedule - it wipes out old data. I changed a habit time which I said I’d do in the evening to morning, it cleared all past data.
Many things are missing
Its an okay app, but not enough for busy people.
Subscription
I’m honestly disappointed that it’s not a one time purchase and it’s a monthly or yearly subscription. There is no justification for a subscription. It’s not an interactive context course and it’s not like it updates every month with better or more features. You want people to pay 18/year to get unlimited habits (other apps already have this feature), to get stats (people know if they did better or not or how long they did it without this feature). why would you even need a passcode lock for the app. It’s not like people are gonna specially go on your phone (that will already have a passcode) and be like oh man I need to know what they’re working on !!! Better reminders? Just set an alarm on your build in phone alarm? Other apps send you notifications to do it for free? And you want us to pay 18/year for a “light” theme? Completely ridiculous. I would’ve paid a one time fee as I need more habits. Even if it was $18 one time payment. But yearly? Makes no sense. I hope developers rethink this app business plan. Something must be wrong if they have to charge 17/year for “premium” features that do not add value when other apps offer it for free.
Has been working great for what I need!
App looks cool and does everything I need.
Great Habilt Builder
Great tracking tool but would if awesome if it was also iPad app”
After update, my pro features are gone :(
I’ve been using this app since finding it via reddit on its release day, but after the most recent update, my pro features are gone and they won’t restore—not sure if this was done on purpose (I get you have to make money) but it came as a surprise. Good app, though—I’ll have to see if it’s worth the subscribe or if another non-subscription app can do the same job.
$4 total -> $12 -> $20 subscription?
Overall, I like this app. What I don’t like is the trend I am seeing (read the comments). We have gone from a fixed price app, to an app that cost $12-13 a year to something that costs $20 a year using a subscription. Has the value increased at the same pace? Are new features added monthly? If you paid for a subscription (especially one costing $20/year (that’s the new price)), help us out by sharing your experience in the comments. Do you think this is worth that much? Otherwise, if you want a fixed price app, check out Things. You can create recurring tasks/todos that behave just like “habits” and synchronize that across all your devices. Overall, I am left thinking that this app is overpriced for what you get and not worth the perpetual payments for the extra features. The free version doesn’t do enough to be viable on its own. ***Developer Responses?*** The canned responses in all the comments don’t address the constant price increases as they relate to newly added value. Share your thoughts to let people like me know if there is value based on your experience given the current price, $20/year recurring costs.
can’t do anything with free version
the free version gives like 4 habits like um what. no thanks
Productive
I noticed on this app that when you first get it you can list all the things etc. but then the next time you are on it, you cant add anything because it says that you need to upgrade. I wouldnt suggest this app only because its basically only free using the first time.
How it works
Challenging to set schedule of activities
Great habit app
I’m using the free version of Productive and I love it! If you want help starting, forming, and tracking habits, this is the app to do that.
Subscription model is a turnoff
